A little post of photo-documentary.
We’ve all been living through history these past years.
Global pandemics and climate change are generally the subject of Hollywood movies..
..and war in Europe generally the preserve of history books
But now these things are on our doorstep.
Real. Present. Happening. Scary.
We like to feel safe and comfortable. The world almost exists on a screen.
But our apparent sanctuary shrinks daily
All our numbers and all of our resolve..
…can only effect change with our actions
Let’s hope we can do enough
Facial expressions speak words beyond language
Their grandchildren will read about the time they lived through
I shot this a month ago (Feb22) They’re still asking and waiting
Starting to seem like a long term dream..
Painful lessons from history can’t be forgotten.
The people never want war. Whatever the conflict.
Being this close to a smoke grenade is actually pretty scary… imagine if that sentence didn’t have the word ‘smoke’ in it…
Simple words equate to powerful messages
Together. Literally or symbolically, it’s the only way forward.
The past years have seen significant upheaval in a global landscape that’s been fairly static for the vast majority of us.
Tangible and far reaching changes to our daily lives caused by what might casually appear to be a paradigm shift, but dig deeper and I think we’ll see that these changes are recurring manifestations from bygone eras..
..and I fear none of us can honestly say that they have a 100% optimistic outlook for our collective future.
