Friday erm sometimes on Saturday when I forget on Friday, a new picture
Back in the spring, when our lockdown was just starting to ease, I ventured out to the edge of the sea.
The weather was sketchy, the beach bars barren and the stores closed.
It’s a bit hard to put into words… but I felt that everything I’d seen that day somehow reflected a far bigger picture. The streets were empty with the fear, a great many store owners had selected the sanctuary of closure over the necessity of revenue. The occasional person that I ran into (but not too close!) seemed hurried and riddled with trepidancies.
A very real and very empty world
And there on the beach, a single sunbather lay, hopeful that the sun’s rays would pierce the cloud cover and that everything would be alright.
