Foto-Friday, every Friday a new picture (OK not last week, but it was Easter!)
I’ve been complaining about lockdown in recent posts which has seen me going through many old pictures
But…
..now our lockdown is starting to ease a little
Which means that we’re allowed out further than our neighbourhoods and that certain establishments can open. Yay!
(It also means I got my hair cut for the first time in seven months. Yay!)
It’s not the same being out though..
The “world” (sic) has this weird post-apocalyptic vibe.
Empty streets, closed stores, out of business stores, police on most corners.
People with things to do (I’m guessing haircuts mainly) scurry in socially distanced isolation, all masked and often gloved. Weary eyes darting left to right seeking the unseen.
It should be a street ‘tog’s dream no? A UNESCO World Heritage city devoid of maddening crowds instead sparsely populated by what appears to be masked interlopers.
But it just feels…. Uneasy. Slightly queasy, surreal yet all too real.
I wasn’t quite sure what to shoot….
