A while back the summer stretched into autumn in a way it hasn’t quite managed since
But summer was leaving and autumn was seeping in, and although the peak of the day still radiated heat, the afternoon light was softer, the evening arrived sooner. The mind seemed invited to drift, to float, to recolect the highpoints of summer and the nuances of aestival promises.
