For some shots, a certain lens is required..
Zoom with your feet is a great maxim to shoot by, but not entirely practical for the craters on the Moon.
Similarly, to get real close to something, it helps to have a lens that can focus at close distances.
The tiny world is full of detail, seemingly invisible creatures take on the role of monsters when up scaled.
It’s good to get close sometimes.
The thing with being really close, is that we can substitute drama for details, context for specifics.
It’s perfectly possible to go a bit wider and add environmental context to your shot. Saves on the cost of a macro lens too!
